Suunto has launched a third pair of open-ear headphones designed for swimming called the Aqua. It has a better water-resistance rating than the Wing headphones, but gets a RM100 bump in the price tag.
The Aqua uses bone conduction technology instead of conventional speakers to output audio with customisable control buttons on both sides. As you can tell from the images, it leaves your ears completely unobstructed, meaning that you will be able to hear your surroundings perfectly while listening to music. These headphones also offer a hands-free control feature where you can answer and hang up phone calls, as well as change audio tracks, using just head movements.
As for dust and water resistance, the Aqua gets an IP68 rating as well as a claim that it can last in 5 metres of water for up to two hours. Regarding battery life, it can last up to 10 hours on a single charge with an additional 20 hours with the portable powerbank. It supports smartphone pairing with Bluetooth 5.2 and it even has 32GB of storage for offline music playback.
The Aqua open-ear headphones retails at RM1,099 and comes in black and blue colour options. It can be purchased through the brand’s website as well as its official Shopee store.
