Honda has revealed the e:N1 electric crossover at this year’s Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2024), confirming its anticipated Malaysian arrival in 2025. This debut marks Honda’s first all-electric vehicle in the Malaysian market, highlighting the automaker’s move towards electrification.
The e:N1 shares its design and dimensions with the popular Honda HR-V, effectively serving as its electric counterpart. Built on Honda’s e:N Architecture F platform, the e:N1 retains the HR-V’s silhouette while adopting EV-specific features such as a closed-off grille with an integrated charging port, L-shaped front bumper trim, and flat white Honda badging. The crossover rides on 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels with 225/50R18 tyres.
Under the hood, the e:N1 is powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. This enables the EV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h.
A 68.8 kWh battery powers the e:N1, offering a driving range of up to 412 km on the WLTP standard (500 km under NEDC). Charging is efficient, with support for 78 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in 45 minutes. Alternatively, 11 kW AC charging takes six hours for a full recharge.
Inside, the e:N1 features modern tech, including a 15.1-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. A 10.25-inch digital display serves as the instrument cluster, while a push-button selector replaces the traditional gear lever found in the combustion-engine HR-V.
Although final specifications and the exact launch date for the e:N1 in Malaysia remain unconfirmed, Honda Malaysia has indicated that this electric B-segment SUV is slated to be part of its lineup in 2025. That said, expect its pricing and potential variations to be announced when the company is ready to announce the EV for the local market.
