MG has launched its highly anticipated Cyberster EV in Malaysia during the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024) today. This two-seater roadster combines striking design elements, such as a drop-top roof and scissor doors.
The MG Cyberster’s interior exudes a driver-centric feel with a cockpit-style layout. Buyers can choose from black-and-red or grey-and-white colour schemes, with Nappa leather and Alcantara sports seats that offer six-way power adjustment and memory functions. A flat-bottomed steering wheel adds a sporty touch, complete with paddles for adjusting drive modes and regenerative braking.
The setup includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster flanked by two seven-inch touchscreens for infotainment and vehicle controls. Additionally, a separate seven-inch touchscreen manages the dual-zone climate control. Other highlights include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.
Powering MG’s roadster EV are dual electric motors delivering 544PS (400kW) and 725Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 201km/h. The 77kWh battery provides a WLTP-rated range of 444km. Charging options include DC fast charging up to 144kW, which replenishes 10 to 80% in 38 minutes, and a slower 7kW AC on-board charger that takes 10.5 hours for a full charge from 10 to 100%.
The Malaysian-spec Cyberster features 20-inch “Jetstream” seven-spoke alloy wheels and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems. Key safety features include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and rear collision warning.
Priced at RM319,900, the MG Cyberster is offered as a single all-wheel-drive variant in Malaysia. The price includes a seven-year/150,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/180,000km battery warranty.
