AMD has announced that it will be hosting a press event at CES 2025. We nearly missed the announcement due to the hype surrounding the unveiling of Intel’s Battlemage today.
Just to be clear, the press event isn’t a keynote, meaning that it will be a closed door event for…well, the press and tech media. The announcement was made by Jack Huynh, Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Graphics Group at AMD, via his official X account.

AMD senior vice president and general manager of the Computing and Graphics Group Jack Huynh, along with other AMD executives will be joined by partners and customers to discuss how AMD is expanding its leadership across PCs and gaming, and highlight the breadth of the company’s high-performance computing and AI product portfolio.
Huynh mentions in his post that the event, which kicks off 6 January 2025, will showcase AMD’s “next generation of innovation across gaming, AI PC, and commercial”. We’re guessing the first part is in reference to what has been rumoured to be RDNA4, Ryzen AI Max or Strix Halo, and quite possibly the Ryzen Z2 series for gaming handhelds.
Honestly, the timing of this couldn’t be better. Just this week, leaks pertaining to a Radeon RX 8800 XT made its way online, which also served as a confirmation of RDNA4’s imminent arrival. Then there is the leak of the Legion Go S, Lenovo’s second generation gaming handheld that is expected to be powered by Red Team’s Ryzen Z2 SoC series.
