Grab has once again made a change to one of its features under the radar, as it has updated the applicable hours for GrabCar Saver. However, this time around, it’s actually good news for e-hailing customers as the platform has extended the hours that its fare-saving option can be used.
GrabCar Saver was introduced last December as a more affordable option, as it allows users to save up to 20% on the fare if they’re willing to wait longer. When it first debuted, the feature was available for use from 9AM to 4PM on weekdays, but back in June, this was cut to 10AM to 1PM.
Now, the company seems to have reversed course as it has actually made the applicable hours even longer than before, with the feature now available in the Klang Valley from 9AM until 5PM from Monday to Friday. Other states get different applicable hours such as Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, where users can use the feature until 11PM on weekdays, with the feature even being available on the weekends in some states.
However, it’s not all good news. GrabShare, which was brought back last year as JustSave before being rebranded to its original name, has had its applicable hours slightly reduced. Before this, the carpooling feature could be used from 2PM until 9:59PM, but now, the window has gotten smaller as it can only be used from 4PM to 9:59PM.
