Last December, Meizu unveiled its MYVU AR smart glasses to the market, with the company announcing earlier in June that it would eventually bring it to Malaysia. Well, while the brand has yet to officially launch the smart glasses here, a couple of local retailers have already listed them for pre-orders revealing the price.
The MYVU augmented reality glasses will be sold in Malaysia with a price tag of RM1,999 in black, gold, and blue colour options. According to the brand’s global website, the smart glasses support translation between 13 languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Russian, French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, Turkish, Italian, and German.
Weighing at only 43g, the glasses project a user interface onto the lenses with a 0.3cc optical engine that has a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and a screen resolution of 1280×480. It comes with built-in microphones and speakers for voice calls as well as listening to music.
As for the battery life, the company claims that the glasses can last up to four hours of teleconferencing or music playback and two hours of navigation, with a charging time of 30 minutes to get to 80%. Connectivity-wise, it supports Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
On the software side, the MYZU runs on Flyme OS with support for speech transcription, real-time notifications, a teleprompter feature, and more. It even has an on-board voice assistant called Aicy, which is powered by Google’s Gemini model.
