Apple has updated the pricing for this year’s M3-powered MacBook Air on its website. All configurations for the laptop are now offered at lower starting prices, with the base 13-inch model coming in at RM4,999 instead of RM5,199 whereas the 15-inch starts from RM5,999 instead of RM6,199. While the price reductions aren’t drastic, they still save buyers a couple of hundred ringgit, depending on the configuration.
To quickly recap, the new MacBook Air laptops offer the same design as their respective predecessors, featuring a 13.6-inch or 15.3-inch screen as well as a quad-speaker setup. The M3 chip is promised to offer a 60% increase in performance over the M1, while the onboard GPU is touted to be 15% more powerful than its M2 counterpart. In terms of battery life, both variants are said to be capable of lasting up to 18 hours on a single charge.
Alongside the M3 chip are memory configurations of up to 24GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage via SSD. Apart from that, the M3 MacBook Air comes with Wi-Fi 6E support, an integrated Force Touch trackpad, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports, dual external display support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Meanwhile, Apple has also updated the pricing of the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, which starts even lower than its initial reduction in March this year. Now, this particular model starts from RM4,499 instead of RM4,799. This is a significant bargain, especially considering that it originally launched at a starting price of RM5,499 back in 2022. However, note that the 15-inch version is no longer offered through Apple’s website.
