HONOR is set to release two smartphones in Malaysia, the X9c Smart and the X5b Plus. Both models are budget options from the X lineup, with the brand already announcing a release data for the former.
Ahead of this, several local retailers have jumped the gun and have listed the two phones for sale, revealing the prices and configurations of the upcoming devices. The X9c Smart will be retailing at RM1,099 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with white and cyan colour options. Meanwhile, the X5b Plus will be priced at RM429, coming with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in blue, purple, and black.
The X5b Plus sports a 6.56-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 530-nit peak brightness. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset and is powered by a 5,200mAh battery with support for 10W charging. The entry-level phone also carries a 50MP main camera, a depth sensor, and a 5MP front snapper.
On the other hand, the company has only revealed that the X9c Smart, scheduled to launch here on 11 December, will replace the curved display with a flat screen and it will be equipped with the standard model’s durability claims including water, drop, and scratch resistance. However, the retailer does list that the phone will feature a 108MP primary camera, a 16MP selfie shooter, and a smaller 5,800mAh battery that supports slower 35W charging.
Update: HONOR has confirmed that the X9c Smart will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage alongside a 5,800mAh battery with 35W charging. Its display will use a 6.8-inch 1080p LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 850 nits while on the optics side, it will be fitted with the same 108MP camera with OIS.
