Tencent, the Shenzhen-based multinational and gaming conglomerate, recently unveiled the Sunday Dragon 3D One, its first and rather massive gaming handheld console. It’s got a massive 11-inch display and as per the 3D moniker in its name, the brands claims the display to be the world’s first glasses-free display on a handheld.
As you can imagine, the 3D application is seemingly limited to just a handful of games. As per Techspot, games like Path of exile, Blade & Soul, and Arena Breakout: Infinite are just some of the known titles that are optimised to run said feature.
The 3D technology notwithstanding, Tencent’s 3D One and its 11-inch display boasts an impressive 1440p resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. That’s the same resolution as the Lenovo Legion Go, although that console had a slightly higher refresh rate of 144Hz.
Beneath the hood, the 3D Pro is powered by an Intel Lunar Lake processor, specifically, a top-end Core Ultra 7 285V. Technically speaking, the CPU comes with four Lion Cove cores and four Skymont cores, has the ability to boost up to 4.8GHz, and comes with an integrated Arc Graphics 140V GPU, which itself features eight Xe2 Cores.
Other specifications include 32GB LPDDR5X integrated memory, running at a frequency of 8,533MT/s, 1TB of internal storage, and an battery of unknown size that supports 100W charging. Like the Nintendo Switch, the joysticks on the Tencent gaming handheld are detachable.
The only thing missing from the unveiling is a price and the availability of the 3D Pro, as Tencent says that this is merely an experimental product. For that matter, it would be interesting to see who would actually buy the product, if it were to make it into the hands of consumers.
