HONOR has announced a new smartphone called the X9c Smart, which is a “lite” edition of the existing X9c. Just like with the 200 Smart, it seems the brand is making the Smart moniker synonymous with more affordable versions of their mid-range devices.
Not much has been revealed about the X9c Smart except for the fact that it will be offered at a more budget-friendly price point with “slightly adjusted specifications”. It will also retain the same durability claims as the vanilla model, including its water resistance, drop resistance, and scratch resistance. Moreover, it will do away with the curved edges in favour of a flat display.
For reference, the regular X9c sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the same entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset as its predecessor with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The phone is fitted with a 108MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP selfie snapper. Powering it is a 6,600mAh battery with support for 66W charging. Moreover, the company claims that it can survive drops of up to 2 metres along with an IP65M rating for dust and water resistance.
The upcoming budget phone will be landing in Malaysia on 11 December 2024 at 8PM. It will come in two colour options, namely cyan and white.
