Honda Malaysia has announced that it will be showcasing two products during the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 event that’s happening next week. Making a first appearance outside of its initial reveal during the Japan Mobility Show last year is the Prelude Concept car, while joining it is the automaker’s Motocompacto foldable electric scooter.
The Prelude Concept is Honda’s reimagining of its popular two-door coupe that ceased production in the early 2000s. On top of featuring a modern sporty design, petrol heads will be glad to know that the car, or rather its concept, is equipped with a hybrid powertrain instead of being a full-fledged EV. Unfortunately, the company has been quite hush about both its specifications and performance, though it would be unsurprising if the Prelude Concept features Honda’s e:HEV powertrain that’s featured on its existing line-up.
Next up is the Motocompacto, Honda’s electric scooter that was first revealed in September of last year. Designed as the successor to the brand’s Motocompo mini scooter from the 1980s, it too features a foldable design. This enables you to carry it around on-hand and easily store it in a car’s boot – even more so this time around, as the all-electric Motocompacto is much smaller than its 50cc predecessor.
If you think the scooter looks fun to ride, be glad to know that Honda is actually allowing you to test it out during KLIMS 2024. That said, expect to wait in line as it is very likely that most visitors would want to have a go at it as well, especially given the fact that the trial is given out for free. No test drive for the Prelude Concept, however.
In case you missed it, KLIMS 2024 is slated to commence on 5 December 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), running for a week until 11 December. Tickets are priced at RM20 on weekdays and RM25 on weekends for adults (18 years old and above), while students with valid IDs aged between 13 and 25 years old are charged at RM10. Kids below 12 years old, on the other hand, are allowed to enter for free.
