Earlier in the month, OneXPlayer, the Chinese gaming handheld maker, unveiled the F1 Pro, one of the first handhelds to be powered by AMD’s latest Strix Point-based Ryzen AI mobile processors. The portable gaming machine is now available but the bad news is that it’s going to cost you more than just a song.
To break it down, the F1 Pro comes with either a Ryzen AI 9 365 of HX 370 and different memory and storage configurations. There are two SKUs with the 365 option: 32GB+1TB and 32GB+2TB. Both are priced at US$1,099 (~RM4,906) and US$1,199 (~RM5,352), respectively. That’s more than what the ASUS ROG Ally X retails for, by the by.
As for the F1 Pro model running with the HX 370, you’re looking at four SKUs in total. Pricing starts at US$1,339 (~RM5,977) for 32GB+1TB, US$1,439 (~RM6,424) for 32GB+2TB, US$1,599 (~RM7,138) for 64GB+1TB, and US$1,699 (~RM7,585) for 64GB+2TB.
As expensive as those asking prices are, the OneXPlayer F1 Pro also offers a 7-inch FHD OLED panel, with a refresh rate of 144Hz. To date, only the Steam Deck OLED and Zotac Zone, the latter of which we are currently reviewing, are some of the known gaming handhelds on the current market that uses the panel.
On a somewhat related note, OneXPlayer is seemingly targeting its domestic Chinese market first, rather than the international market segment immediately. For that matter, coverage of the console is currently limited – there are still no official reviews from some of the more prominent handheld reviewers on YouTube, including ETA Prime or Retro Game Corp.
