Maybank have alerted customers about disruptions to DuitNow Transfer and DuitNow QR services today on 25 November 2024. Customers are encouraged to stay informed through official announcements and to use alternative services like Interbank GIRO (IBG) for banking transactions during this downtime.
Maybank announced on Facebook that these services are temporarily unavailable on its MAE app, M2U web, and M2U Biz platforms. Transfers to and from other banks via DuitNow are affected, prompting the bank to recommend using IIBG as an alternative. Maybank reassured users that transfers and QR payments within Maybank accounts remain functional, and other services on its platforms are operating as usual.
Meeanwhile, CIMB Malaysia also acknowledged the issue, noting in a response on X (formerly Twitter) that disruptions at other banks are impacting some DuitNow transactions and Instant Transfers. The bank is advising users to opt for IBG as a temporary measure if they wish to conduct transactions to affected banks. Despite these disruptions, CIMB confirmed that its systems are functioning normally, and the issue stems from external sources.
Hi. Thank you for contacting CIMB. We understand that some banks are experiencing issues on their end, which may impact your overall experience while performing DuitNow transactions (Instant Transfer). We assure you all our services are available.

Additionallly, reports are saying that the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app has notified users of intermittent issues with certain QR payment partners, attributing the disruptions to third-party maintenance. The platform is assuring that the matter would be resolved soon, and customers are advised to retry transactions later if they encounter difficulties.
