Rumours have it that AMD is planning to launch its Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D CPUs in January 2025, which we’re guessing will be just after CES 2025. Like its non-X3D counterparts, the CPU is expected to ship out in their respective 12-core and 16-core configurations but with a slight drawback.
The rumour was first posted on X by the leakster Hoang Anh Phu, who is known for providing some relatively reliable details on hardware, at least when it comes to AMD products. Their tweet is rather bare, though, stating simply the expected arrival of the remaining two Ryzen 9000X3D chips and their aforementioned core count.
Late Jan – X3D 🚀

In a separate tweet, Hoang said that, like their Ryzen 7000X3D predecessors, both the 9950X3D and 9900X3D would allegedly only have 3D V-Cache on just one CCD instead of two, meaning that both CPU will only receive an extra 64MB for a single die.
To be clear, both CPUs will still be using second generation 3D V-Cache, they just won’t receive the full version of it, like the 9800X3D does.
Same as last gen.

Again, this is merely a rumour and nothing has been officially confirmed by AMD, so there is still a chance that the red chipmaker could ultimately give both CPUs the full-fat 3D V-Cache for each chiplet. So, as always, take this with the usual grain of salt.
