Even before Google brought its Pixel devices to our shores, the internet search giant has had a choppy history when it comes to tablets. It had the Pixel Slate for awhile late in the last decade, when went silent for a long while before announcing the Pixel Tablet. Now, it looks like its successor may have been canned.
Android Authority cites a source that claims that Google has cancelled its plans to release the Pixel Tablet 2 over fears that the company will lose money on it. Which is a pretty strange decision considering the company also has a keyboard accessory with a track pad for the tablet in the works.
More details shared by the report include a codename of “kiyomi” for the Google Pixel Tablet 2, and that it would have the same Tensor G4 chipset as the Pixel 9 phones. It also initially had a release window of next year, which doesn’t look to be happening anymo1re.
Also worth noting -is that the reports mentions a Google Pixel 3, which is could still on track for 2027, with a Tensor G6 chipset in tow. Though with so much time in between now and then, there’s plenty of chances for plans to change.
