Perodua has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Petronas and Gentari to enhance its retail services and customer experience, paving the way for the release of its first ever EV next year. These collaborations focus on improving accessibility and introducing new conveniences across the automaker‘s first-party app as well as its service centres.
The first MoU, involving Perodua Sales, Petronas Lubricants Marketing, Mesra Retail & Cafe and Setel Ventures, will see Setel’s digital payment system integrated into Perodua’s own UFirst app. Mesra retail stations will also be added at service centres, while selected Petronas stations will house Perodua service facilities.
Perodua CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad welcomed this expansion, highlighting the over 20-year collaboration between Perodua and Petronas as a strong foundation for mutual growth. He emphasised the benefits these developments will bring to Perodua’s valued customers.
The second MoU marks a partnership with Gentari, focused on preparing for Perodua’s anticipated entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market by late 2025. With this, Gentari Green Mobility will establish EV charging stations at the automaker’s service centres to support the upcoming addition of EVs to its line-up.
Gentari deputy CEO Shah Yang Razalli outlined the initiatives under this collaboration, including the installation of EV charging facilities, subscription options, home charging solutions, and integration with the Gentari Go platform. These efforts aim to simplify EV adoption while enhancing convenience for Perodua customers.
