Chinese phone maker HONOR had just last month started offering the 200 Lite as a freebie if you signed up for a Maxis Postpaid 109 plan. It looks like the brand is doing something similar with the more recent X9c, and with more telcos in on the deal this time around as well, as U Mobile and Yes 5G are also offering the phone for free to go with their own postpaid plans.
Specifically though, only the HONOR X9c with the 12GB + 512GB configuration is being offered, which is nice as there’s little reason to want less storage space. As for the telco plans that can get you the phone for free, Maxis is offering the phone for its Postpaid 139 plans and up. You can technically also get it with the Postpaid 109 plan, but you’ll still have to fork out RM299. Which isn’t the worst deal considering this specific config costs RM1,699.
It’s a pretty similar story with U Mobile, which is offering the HONOR X9c for free with its U Family 128 plan, or specifically the U Postpaid 98 plan with the three-year contract. Get the latter with the two-year contract and the phone will still cost RM269, and similarly, you can get the phone with the U Postpaid 68 plan for RM659. Things are a lot more straightforward with Yes 5G, as the HONOR X9c is only available with the Infinite Plus Standard plan, and nothing else.
If you want to know more about the phone before committing to either of these plans, we have a review of the HONOR X9c which you can check out. The phone was launched locally earlier in the month, before becoming available just last week.
