Huawei has launched a new tablet in Malaysia called the MatePad 12 X, which is a more affordable model compared to the new Pro 12.2. As you can imagine with its positioning, it gets more modest specs such as doing away with the OLED panel in favour of LCD.
The MatePad 12 X sports a 12-inch 2800×1840 PaperMatte LCD display with a whopping refresh rate of 144Hz as well as a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a Kirin T90A chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Connectivity-wise, it supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 while on the software side, it ships with HarmonyOS 4.2.
For imaging, the tablet is equipped with a dual-setup on the back made up of a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front houses an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering it is the same 10,100mAh capacity as the Pro, but with a lower charging speed of 66W. Additionally, it does not come with a fingerprint scanner, but it does feature a total of six speakers along with a graphite cooling system.
The MatePad 12 X comes in white and green colour options, retailing at RM2,999. It is available for pre-order from 19 to 29 November 2024, with early birds getting a free pair of wireless earbuds, an M-Pencil, a smart magnetic keyboard, a mouse, a backpack, and a one-year screen protection policy. It can be purchased through the brand’s online store as well as its Shopee and Lazada stores.
