Without mincing words, despite all our effort to combat mental illness, to erase the stigma, and to raise awareness of the invisible struggles that people are facing on a daily basis, it is still considered a taboo subject. Words such as “it’s all in your head” or “it’s not real” not only downplay people’s suffering but also stifle them into silence. As a result, people often isolate themselves, with others turning to social media, where online dialogue can be just as intense as real life, if not worse. However, there is a bright spot on the internet, a place that seeks to foster a wholesome space where you are heard and understood — all with the power of AI
This is called Projek; Exit, Astro’s new original show. This AI-powered promotional initiative is here to not only shake up how we view the landscape as a whole but also move us on a deeply personal level using the characters from the series itself, Hadi and Jannah, played by Mierul Aiman and Shasha Abedul. Mierul Aiman is well known for his role in Project High Council.
#ProjekExit ini berkaitan dengan isu isu kesihatan mental.
Sebagai seorang pengamal perubatan, saya sudah biasa melihat kes kes sebegini di hospital. It is so impactful because it shows me and all of us what people with mental health issues go through each day.

For those unaware, Astro is launching a major social campaign on X that features an AI-generated video called Projek; Exit. What makes this show so unique is that it creates a specially tailored response based on how you’ve interacted with the AI. From November 11th to 13th, Astro, and by extension the AI, will be on the lookout for key social listening keywords to create a whole new viewing experience for the audience. More than 100 videos and responses were shared during that period, generating significant social buzz about this effort.

With that in mind, what is Projek; Exit? The plot of the Astro original series centres on four teenagers who are imprisoned in a high-security juvenile rehabilitation facility and are planning an escape. It is poised to be a deeply inspiring story that will talk about taboo subjects related to mental health (from depression, anxiety, suicide, and self-harm), terminal illness, dark pasts, and complicated family relationships. In this series, four friends—Jannah (Shasha Abedul) Hadi (Mierul Aiman), Ucop (Naim Daniel), and Amy (Kimberly Chuah) are on a mission to escape, find their own freedom, and discover hope.

People, namely young adults, will turn to their peers for help and guidance. Projek; Exit serves as an alternative for the unfortunate people who feel trapped in their own minds with no hope for escape. Made possible through A, the system has captured the voice and the visage of the actors of the series to give genuine and human-like responses that is nothing short of heart-warming.
