When you think of computer gaming, a Mac probably won’t be anywhere near the first thing that comes to mind, even if there’s a conscious effort to change that. But maybe that’s the train of thought that Corsair is running with, when it announced a refresh for its K65 Plus keyboard and M75 mouse, both first unveiled earlier this year. The company has announced a version of each for Mac, with a new colourway to go with them as well.
To certify that these are indeed made for Mac rather than Windows, the Corsair K65 Plus refresh comes with the Command and Option keys rather than the usual Windows and Alternate keys. The keyboard itself is also of a 75% TKL design, with pre-lubricated MLX Red v2 linear mechanical switches plus sound dampening. There’s also a 266-hour battery life, though it’s not noted if this is with Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless.
Speaking of which, the Corsair K65 Plus comes with both the aforementioned wireless options, with the latter making use of a USB dongle, as well as the classic wired connection. Said dongle comes in USB-A plug type, which can be a problem when paired with Mac hardware recent enough to be even considered for gaming. According to Gizmodo, this is remedied by an Anker USB-A to USB-C adapter that comes in the box.
On the other hand, the Corsair M75 mouse doesn’t come with any distinctive features that tell you that it’s made for Mac use. But it does come with all the advantages it launched with, such as optical switches rated for 100 million clicks, Bluetooth connectivity or its own Slipstream Wireless 2.4 GHz wireless tech.
As mentioned, the Corsair M65 Plus and M75 comes in a new colourway, called Glacier Blue, while the standard white is now known as Frost. Both colour options cost the same, with the keyboard coming with a US$179.95 (~RM804) price tag, while the mouse has an asking price of US$129.95 (~RM581). No word on local pricing and availability at the time of writing yet.
