realme today has launched its GT 7 Pro flagship smartphone for the global market. It is also slated to arrive in Malaysia tomorrow, becoming the first device to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in the local market.
The global version of the realme GT 7 Pro resembles its release in China for the most part. More specifically, it comes with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1264 x 2780px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1 billion colours, 6,000 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It also features improved water and dust resistance rating of IP68+IP69, while its colourways include Galaxy Grey and Mars Orange – the latter featuring an eye-fetching marbled finish. Unfortunately, it appears that the White option is left out from the global release.
For the local market, accompanying the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset under the hood of the GT 7 Pro is a single configuration made up 12GB RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Powering it is a massive 6,500mAh battery which supports 120W fast charging via USB-C, while also onboard are stereo speakers, an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, improved VC Cooling system, as well as dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC connectivity. On the software side of things, the phone features Android 15 via Realme UI 6.0, as well as a variety of built-in tools powered by the brand’s NEXT AI system.
Imaging-wise, on the back of the GT 7 Pro is a triple camera array comprising a 50MP primary with OIS, a 50MP telephoto with up to 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide. In front, housed within the punch-hole cutout on its display is a 16MP selfie camera. Thanks to the phone’s upgraded IP rating, realme says the phone and its imaging systems are usable when submerged underwater.
The realme GT 7 Pro is priced at RM3,699. It will be available in Malaysia starting tomorrow on 19 November 2024 via the brand’s official online store on Shopee and Lazada, as well as its flagship store at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
