Following Netflix’s announcement today that it will be increasing subscription prices in Malaysia across all tiers, Unifi has confirmed that its bundle users will also be affected. Fortunately, TV Pack offerings won’t be increasing in price, but add-on upgrades for the streaming service will cost more starting 21 November 2024.
Firstly, customers of the Ultimate Max Pack will see the cost of upgrading the Standard Netflix plan included in the bundle to the Premium plan increase from an additional RM10/month to RM13/month. As for Ultimate Plus Pack subscribers, the cost of upgrading the Basic plan to the Standard plan is going up from RM17/month to RM20/month, while upgrading to the Premium plan will spike from RM27/month to RM33/month.
Users of Unifi’s home broadband will also see these same price increases for Netflix plan upgrades. To recap:
- Basic to Standard Plan – upgrade at additional RM20/month
- Basic to Premium Plan – upgrade at additional RM33/month
- Standard to Premium Plan – upgrade at additional RM13/month
For those who subscribe to Netflix via a la carte instead of through one of Unifi’s bundles, the price bump will be the same as for everyone else. The new subscription prices will be RM29.90/month for the Basic plan, RM49.90 for the Standard plan, and RM62.90 for the Premium plan. On the other hand, those who subscribed through Astro’s bundle plans won’t see a price change until March 2025.
