Netflix has quietly increased its subscription prices across all tiers in Malaysia, with changes now reflected on the streaming platform’s website. The new rates appear to be effective immediately, impacting both new and existing subscribers.
The Mobile plan, which supports streaming on one device at 480p resolution, now costs RM18.90, up from RM17. The Basic plan, offering 720p streaming on a single device, has risen to RM29.90 from RM28. Meanwhile, the Standard plan, which allows streaming in 1080p on two devices, has increased to RM49.90, compared to the previous RM45. The Premium plan sees the most significant jump, now priced at RM62.90, up from RM55, providing 4K streaming for up to four devices.
Despite the price hikes, Netflix has not made any changes to the benefits included in each subscription tier. This means that users will continue to enjoy the same streaming quality, device allowances, and content access as before.
The revised pricing may also affect services that bundle Netflix in their packages, such as Astro and Unifi TV. As these providers typically mirror Netflix’s subscription costs in their offerings, customers subscribed through these platforms could see adjusted rates. We’ve reached out to the relevant providers for further comment on potential pricing updates.
