Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has posted a demonstration video on X that showcases the brand’s new HyperConnect feature. With the new feature, users can quickly transfer files from their Xiaomi smartphone to Apple products, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
In the video, the CEO seamlessly transfer a photo to Apple products from the share menu of a 15 Pro. This implementation only requires the devices to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This means that it does not require the installation of external apps to aid the process, unlike OnePlus’ iteration with the O+ Connect app.

While it is impressive, it is unclear if compatible Xiaomi phones can receive files from Apple devices. However, the cross-device compatibility does not stop there, as the Xiaomi 15 series even supports mirroring on MacBooks. Moreover, the lineup is able to access Apple’s proprietary file formats, such as Keynote, without needing to do any conversions.
Apparently, this inter-operability for the two operating systems stems from Xiaomi wanting to make its SU7 EV compatible with Apple products, with the majority of the car’s customers being Apple users. These new features are only available in China as part of the HyperOS 2.0 update, and as of now, there is no word on when it might roll out globally.
