Infinix could soon introduce a new smartphone called the Smart 9 HD to the Malaysian market. Despite its name, it has a display with the same resolution as its vanilla counterpart along with a lower refresh rate, but retains the drop resistance as well as most of the specs of the regular model.
Listed on 30 September 2024 with the model number X6532C, the Smart 9 HD has already received approval from SIRIM, indicating that it will be available here in the near future. It is unknown what storage and RAM configurations will be offered, but it will ship with XOS 14.0 based on Android 14 (Go Edition).
The Smart 9 HD sports a 6.7-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Under the hood, it runs on an undisclosed eight-core MediaTek chipset but based on its core configuration, it is likely using a Helio G36. For connectivity, it supports 4G and Bluetooth, with no mention of NFC.
On the imaging side, it gets a 13MP main camera as well as an 8MP front shooter. Powering the entry-level phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. Additionally, it is fitted with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and gets an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
