OPPO has announced that its Find X8 series of flagship smartphones, along with its latest ColorOS 15 platform, will launch globally on 21 November 2024 in Bali, Indonesia at 1pm local time. As confirmed by the company, the event will see the debut of the base and Pro models from the upcoming line-up; both come with the latest high-end chipset from MediaTek and Hasselblad-enhanced cameras, among other things.
To recap its launch in China, the OPPO Find X8 series offers a similar design, featuring a large circular camera bump on the back and a flat surrounding frame. Both variants are rated IP69 in terms of water and dust resistance.
Imaging-wise, housed within the aforementioned bump are three 50MP sensors for the primary, wide-angle and telephoto cameras, while found in front is a 32MP selfie shooter. Meanwhile, powering the duo is a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 flagship chipset, which is paired with up to 16GB of RAM.
The base OPPO Find X8 is the smaller of the two, sporting a 6.59-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with up to 512GB of storage, a 5,630mAh battery with 80W USB-C charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Find X8 Pro, on the other hand, features a larger 6.78-inch OLED display with curved edges, FHD+ resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it offers up to 1TB of storage, satellite communication, a slightly larger 5,910mAh battery capacity with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, as well as an all-new Quick Capture button.
For reference, the vanilla Find X8 launched in China at a starting price of CNY4,199 (~RM2,563) for the 12GB+256GB configuration, whereas the Find X8 Pro starts from CNY5,299 (~RM3,235) for the same trim. OPPO did not say whether the upcoming global launch would also reveal the pricing and availability for the Malaysian market. However, according to listings on SIRIM’s database, a local debut for the new OPPO flagship series appears to be imminent.
