Apple now allows Malaysian customers to place their orders for the 2024 iPad mini via its official website. According to the product page, the new compact tablet is expected to ship out starting 12 November 2024 onwards to customers who are purchasing it today. However, for those who prefer in-store pickups, Apple says this option is still not available at this time.
Much like its other products that are sold via the company’s website, you can choose to include various add-ons along with your purchase. For the 2024 iPad mini, customers can opt to include an Apple Pencil (RM349) or a Pencil Pro (RM549), a dedicated Smart Folio (RM249), an AppleCare+ plan (RM299), or a free engraving. There’s also the option to trade-in an existing or older device for up to RM3,650 store credits, as well as the choice to purchase the new tablet via a 24-month installment (RM91.63 per month).
To recap, the 2024 iPad mini comes with an 8.3-inch display with 2266 x 1488 px resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The tablet is offered in new Purple and Blue colours on top of the existing Space Grey and Starlight options, though its overall design is more or less similar to its predecessor.
Under its hood is an A17 Pro chipset that not only promises a significant leap in performance, but supports Apple Intelligence as well. While the exact figure is undisclosed, the company says the 2024 iPad mini packs more RAM than before. Storage-wise, it now starts from 128GB and for the first time ever, a 512GB option is also available.
Additionally, on its back is a 12MP primary with Smart HDR 4 and an updated True Tone flash, whereas in front is another 12MP shooter for selfies and video conferencing. The new mini comes with a faster Wi-Fi 6E chip, an updated USB-C port that’s 2x faster, and is promised to offer an “all-day” battery life.
The 2024 iPad mini starts from RM2,199 for the Wi-Fi model, and from RM2,899 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant. For education, it is offered from RM1,949 for the former, and from RM2,649 for the latter.
