Earlier in the year, we saw reports of a new variant for the iPhone 17 that will be thinner and more expensive than the Pro Max. It looks like Samsung may be exploring some options along the same lines, as a more recent report claims that there will be a Galaxy S25 that’s thinner than the rest of the series.
South Korean news outlet ETNews reports that this thinner model of the Samsung Galaxy S25 will be released separately from the main trio. Instead, it will be released within the second quarter of the year, so sometime between April and June of 2025.
Separately, Indian site Smartprix claims to have seen the listing for this slim model of the Samsung Galaxy S25, with a model number of SM-S937U in the GSMA IMEI database. For context, the site also notes that the base, Plus and Ultra models in the series sport model numbers of SM-S931, SM-S936 and SM-S938 respectively, with the U at the end representing a model specifically for the US market.
Despite all these details being aired, it remains to be seen where this slim version of the Samsung Galaxy S25 will sit on the totem pole compared to its own siblings. Despite being reportedly more expensive than the Pro Max model, it’s unclear if the slim version of the iPhone 17 will actually be better armed. So far, the lack of details means that the same applies to the S25.
