The Microsoft 365 Family subscription plan saw a price hike back in July, going from RM36 to RM41. It looks like the plan is getting another price hike, and a more significant one at that this time around. The Personal plan has also gotten a price increase of its own, now costing more than what the Family plan did back in July.
On the official page for Microsoft 365, the company is currently listing the Family plan as costing RM54 a month. This means an increase of RM13 since the last time it got a price hike, and a total of RM18 in the span of half a year. The Personal plan, on the other hand, was listed as costing RM27 a month prior to the last price hike, with the current listing showing RM44 a month instead.
Interestingly, this price hike doesn’t appear to affect other markets like, say the US market. A quick check with the Internet Archive shows that the price of the Microsoft 365 subscriptions for both Family and Personal plans there remain at US$99.99 and US$69.99 as they have since May.
This may have something to do with the addition of Copilot to the Microsoft 365 subscriptions for select markets. According to the announcement posted last week, only subscribers in Malaysia, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore are getting Copilot integrated into their subscriptions.
