U Mobile has launched its first family postpaid plan, U Family 128. Priced at RM128 per month, this latest plan includes shareable data, unlimited local calls, as well as free global roaming data and incoming calls from abroad across four mobile lines. It also comes with a complimentary 5G device from selected brands.
Among the few highlights of the new U Family 128 subscription is a large pool of shareable 5G data of 1,000GB (1TB), along with 15GB of shareable free global roaming data in 63 destinations. U Mobile says this is the first plan in Malaysia to offer the latter. According to the telco’s T&C page, U Family 128 is subject to its Fair Usage Policy (FUP), where reaching the limit will reduce the speed to 64kbps. It also notes that peer-to-peer (P2P) usage is not available for this plan.
Additionally, the plan comes with Ultra Hotspot 5G which shares data usage from the same 1TB quota, as well as unlimited local calls and free incoming calls from abroad. U Family 128 comes with three U Family Share lines that share the same local and roaming data quota as the principal line, which is also subject to FUP. U Mobile notes that activating the additional lines aren’t compulsory, but activation can only be done at its stores nationwide.
As mentioned earlier, U Family 128 comes with a complimentary 5G device from selected brands. Among the models available include the OPPO Reno12 F 5G, realme 13+ 5G, Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, and more. A complete list can be found via this link, and do note that the chosen device also comes with a 24-month contract.
U Family 128 is available now, and available to all Malaysians and foreigners above 18 years. For the latter, U Mobile notes that non-Malaysians are required to pay a refundable deposit of RM 500 during sign-up.
