With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 9 Elite officially unveiled, it naturally means that we will start seeing phones getting announced with the new chipset. And among the first to hit the market – even if not ours specifically – is the iQOO 13, which got its own minor leak earlier last month.
On that note, the official launch of the iQOO 13 also confirms the leak’s mention of RGB lighting surrounding the camera island at the back, featuring lighting animations reminiscent of RGB keyboards. It intuitively serves as a notification indicator, as well as being able to respond to music playback and charging status.
Other items on the spec sheet of the iQOO 13 include 6.82-inch AMOLED QHD+ display with a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a 1,800 nits peak brightness. It also has a relatively large battery, rated at 6,150 mAh with 120W charging, presumably to help power the RGB lighting in addition to just the usual phone functions. It also features what is claimed to be an IP69 rating.
Speaking of which, the cameras on the island include a 50MP main + 50MP 2x telephoto + 50MP wide angle combo. In front, it instead has a 32MP unit sitting in a punch hole cutout. The overall look is pretty similar to the predecessor model, including the presence of what is called a Legend Edition, featuring the three stripes of the BMW edition.
And with that, the iQOO 13 comes in up to five different configurations, with a choice of between 12GB and 16GB of RAM, and a range from 256GB to 1TB of storage. This, in turn, leads to a price range of between CNY3,999 (~RM2,456) and CNY5,199 (~RM3,193). No word on when it will launch locally, but judging from its schedule from last year, chances are it will land on our shores early next month.
