Ayaneo recently posted a teaser video of its next-generation gaming handheld, the self-titled Ayaneo 3. The new handheld is set to be the successor of the Ayaneo 2, which launched back in 2022.
Like all teasers, the video doesn’t reveal much in terms of detail but does show off the design of the Ayaneo 3 and, the placement of its joysticks, which are clearly in the Xbox-style asymmetrical layout, the D-Pad, triggers, and rear buttons.
The video also indicates the codename the company is using for the handheld, REVO, which is short for “Revolution”. It says that the codename is meant to symbolise the device’s “disruption and innovation”. More interestingly, it is also referring to the handheld as a “concept”.
The one interesting factor of the Ayaneo 3 is also viewable in the teaser: at the 30-second mark, the video shows the front of the console, sporting what appears to a display panel spanning the length of the handheld. On the other hand, it could be a cover for the front, given that a few seconds earlier, the clip also shows us the device from its side, complete with the Joysticks prominently sticking out.
Another detail missing from the video is the official availability date for the console. That said, it is possible that the brand is planning a grand reveal for it sometime next year but suffice it to say, the brand will be going up against some really stiff competition.
2025 is expected to be a hot year for gaming handhelds. AMD is expected to be introducing the Ryzen Z2 Series, of which it is rumoured to launch three SKUs. Likewise, there devices that are set to launch with Qualcomm’s Elite 8 Series SoC.
