Xiaomi has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone series in China. The new Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro models offer the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, along with high-end photography capabilities that’s enhanced by Leica.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro sports a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports a sharp 2K resolution, a peak brightness of up to 3200 nits, and Dolby Vision.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and storage options reaching up to 1TB of UFS 4.0. Powering the device is a 6,100mAh battery, supporting fast 90W wired and 50W wireless charging options, allowing quick top-ups.
On the rear, it features a Leica enhanced triple-camera setup, comprising a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens equipped with Sony’s IMX 858 sensor. For selfies, a 32MP front camera is housed in the punch-hole cutout on its display.
In terms of additional features, the Xiaomi 15 Pro offers Wi-Fi 7, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an IP68 waterproof rating, an infrared transmitter, and an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint scanner. It runs on Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15, delivering a seamless and responsive user experience.
Next up is the base Xiaomi 15, which offers a smaller 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 1.5K resolution, reaches up to 3200 nits peak brightness, and includes Dolby Vision compatibility. Like the Pro, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, comes with up to 16GB RAM, 1TB of storage, and is powered by a smaller 5,400mAh battery, with the same 90W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds.
The Leica camera system on the Xiaomi 15 consists of a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. Like the Pro, it also features a 32MP selfie shooter.
The Xiaomi 15 offers IP68 water and dust resistance as well, and runs on HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. It also includes stereo speakers, an infrared emitter, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
In China, the Xiaomi 15 Pro starts at CNY5,299 (~RM 3,246) for the 12GB + 256GB model and goes up to CNY6,499 (~RM3,982) for the 16GB + 1TB version. On the other hand, the base Xiaomi 15 starts at CNY4,499 (~RM2756) for 12GB + 256GB, reaching CNY5,499 (~RM3,369) for 16GB + 1TB. The company has yet to confirm the global availability of its new Snapdragon 8 Elite equipped flagship smartphones.
