Acer today has launched the Swift 14 AI notebook in Malaysia. Initially unveiled back in May this year for the global market, it is the brand’s latest thin and lightweight laptop that’s packed with powerful specifications, long battery life and, of course, artificial intelligence enhanced features.
The new Acer Swift AI features a 14-inch OLED display with a WUXGA resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a brightness of 500 nits. Its screen is also supported by DisplayHDR True Black 500 technology for richer reds, blues, greens, and deep blacks.
Under the hood, the Swift 14 AI is powered by the Intel Core Ultra series, with options for either the Core Ultra 7 258V or Core Ultra 5 226V CPUs. Both of which feature eight cores, split into four performance cores (P-cores) and four efficiency cores (E-cores). The Core Ultra 7 model is paired with 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, while the Ultra 5 has 16GB. Each model includes 512GB of PCIe4 SSD storage, ensuring swift data access and efficient multitasking.
In terms of connectivity, featured onboard the laptop are two Thunderbolt 4 ports for charging and fast data transfer, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports for accessories, and an HDMI 2.1 FRL port that supports up to 4K displays. The Swift 14 AI’s full aluminium chassis provides a durable and lightweight build at just 1.3 kg, with the new design aiding in heat management.
Acer has integrated AI-focused software into this laptop, with a dedicated Acer Sense button on the keyboard allowing users to access and adjust performance settings. Acer Sense also provides real-time resource monitoring, including CPU, memory, storage, and NPU usage, with updates available directly through the software. To ensure that users are aware, an Activity Indicator light on the touchpad signals when the NPU is in use.
For video calls and security, the Swift 14 AI is equipped with a 1440p camera and an AI-powered microphone using Acer PurifiedView and PurifiedVoice technologies, enhancing teleconference experiences. The Acer User Sensing 2.0 feature can detect user presence to lock the device when inactive, adding an extra layer of security.
Battery-wise, Acer claims the onboard 65Wh battery on the Swift 14 AI offers up to 17 hours of use on a single charge. Speaking of which, it supports a fast charging rate of 65W via USB PD.
The new Acer Swift 14 AI is available in Malaysia starting today on 29 October 2024, with the Intel Core Ultra 5 model priced at RM4,399, while the Core Ultra 7 model costs RM4,999. The brand notes that early buyers will also receive complimentary Sony C510 earphones while stocks last.
