Back in July, Microsoft hiked the subscription price for its Xbox PC Game Pass from RM15 to RM20. Now, there’s a way to get it at a price that’s somewhere in between, and it’s from one of the most unconventional places – CelcomDigi. Of course, you’ll have to also subscribe to the telco’s home fibre plans to take advantage of this.
It’s part of what CelcomDigi calls its PC Game Pass Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launch offer, though the offer doesn’t actually include the game itself. Instead, the promo sees the PC Game Pass having its cost lowered to RM17 a month if you add it on to your monthly bill. This offer is valid from now until 31 December and subscribers who also subscribe to PC Game Pass during this window will get a code to redeem in-game items like calling cards and stickers.
As for whether your PC Game Pass subscription price will remain at RM17 a month if you tie it to your CelcomDigi fibre bill, it’s unclear at the moment as to whether that’s a case. A company rep says that while the promo itself will end with the year, the RM17 subscription price is in effect until further notice. So at the very least, you’ll get two or three months of the “Netflix for games” at a discount, but you could very well keep the discounted price for a lot more than that.
In principle, it works similarly to adding the instalment of a Ryzen Z1 ASUS ROG Ally, or indeed a PS5, to your CelcomDigi fibre bill. Naturally, the PC Game Pass subscription is something that you can probably use with the former, but not the latter.
