Apple is gearing up for a major week of Mac announcements starting Monday, 28 October 2024. While the company is not hosting a formal event, Senior VP Greg Joswiak confirmed that it will be an “exciting week of announcements” on X (formerly Twitter). These updates are expected to focus on the introduction of M4-powered Macs, continuing Apple’s transition to its latest chip architecture.
The M4 chip first debuted in the iPad Pro earlier this year, and the upcoming lineup will likely include updated iMacs, 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and a redesigned Mac mini. As you may recall, a recent leak from Russian YouTubers have shown what appear to be M4-equipped MacBook Pro in action, while a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that Apple still intends to release new hardware this month, following the release of the iPad mini 7.

Speaking of which, rumours of M4-powered Macs have been circulating for some time. For the Mac mini, Gurman says the new device is expected to be significantly smaller, akin to the Apple TV, while also potentially offering more compact and efficient hardware for consumers.
Though no other specifics were shared about the format of the announcements, it is anticipated that Apple will release a series of press statements, possibly accompanied by videos. Additionally, the company also plans to release new software updates for iPhones, iPads and Macs, which will introduce the much-anticipated Apple Intelligence features to users.
