The JBL Tour Pro 3 was first unveiled back in August, with its main gimmick being its charging case doubling as a wireless transmitter for another music source. Now, it is being made available in the local market as part of the brand’s Rewind Revolution Roadshow.
As part of the launch, we also got a more complete look at what the JBL Tour Pro 3 has to offer. Battery life was one of the important but missing pieces of info before, but now we know that the buds themselves can last around eight ours, with the case bringing the total up to 44 hours. A 10-minute charge is also said to be providing three hours of listening time. There’s also an IP55 rating as a nice bonus, and sound is driven by dual drivers.
Oddly enough, sharing the launch with the flagship earbuds are the JBL PartyLight Beam and PartyLight Stick. The former is essentially the kind of multi-coloured lights that you see at, well, parties, but on a smaller scale for your living room or a similar space. The latter, on the other hand, is a bit more unique, as you can use it as simply room lighting, or you can detach the light tube from the mount for more flexibility with your lighting setup. The tube itself has a battery life of eight hours.
Both the JBL PartyLight products are meant to be used with a PartyBox speaker of some kind. They connect via Auracast to the speakers, and the brand says that they have built-in mics to detect music being played, and a music detection algorithm to let them sync to the music. Otherwise, you can set specific lighting effects and patterns as well as their speed and colour via the PartyBox app.
The JBL Tour Pro 3 is priced at RM1,499, while the PartyLight Beam and PartyLight Stick are priced at RM739 and RM569 respectively. You can get these from either the brand’s official site, its stores on Lazada and Shopee, or good old physical retail. You can also drop by the Rewind Revolution Roadshow at Mid Valley Mega Mall, East Entrance Atrium for exclusive discounts and free gifts. The roadshow will be around until 27 October 2024.
