Infinix has introduced two new devices into the Hot 50 series with the Hot 50 Pro and Pro Plus. The two phones seem to be nearly identical smartphones, with the only major difference being in the display and front camera.
The Hot 50 Pro sports a flat 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a global peak brightness of 550 nits, and local peak brightness of 1,800 nits for HDR content. On the other hand, the Pro Plus gets a curved 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with the same refresh rate and global brightness rating, but a lower local peak brightness of 1,300 nits. For protection, both phones get an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, but only the Pro Plus gets a Corning Gorilla cover glass.
Under the hood, both entry-level devices run on a MediaTek Helio G100 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of expandable storage, although the Pro can only support a microSD card of up to 1TB while the Pro Plus has a higher limit of 2TB. Connectivity-wise, the two budget smartphones support 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC, while on the security side, they are both fitted with an under-display fingerprint scanner.
Regarding the optics, the duo features a 50MP main camera and two depth sensors, while for the front camera, the Pro and Pro Plus get an 8MP and 13MP snapper respectively. The phones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging and bypass charging.
The price and availability of the Hot 50 Pro lineup has yet to be revealed. As of now, it is unknown if the brand plans to bring the new smartphones to Malaysia.
