Astro has announced that it is expanding its Jualan Jimat Besar discounts to include the launch of a new streaming service, which it calls Simply South, as well as the existing Viu Premium. Beyond that, the broadcaster also announced that it will be adding two new channels once 1 November rolls around. One is called Blippi & Friends, while the other is Oppa Mania.
Starting with Jualan Jimat Besar in general, this sees the Primary Pack getting its monthly fee of RM74.99 getting dropped to RM41.99. This comes with the base selection of 85 channels, before we get to the other possible add-ons.
One of the new add-ons in question is Simply South, which Astro describes this as “a streaming service with the largest library of Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam content”. This would normally be available for RM14.90 a month, but as part of the promo it will only cost RM10.80 a month. This comes into effect starting tomorrow, 24 October, but there is currently no end date for the offer just yet.
Similarly, Astro also says that Viu Premium will be available at RM4.99 a month for the first three months, as opposed to the usual RM14.99 a month price. According to the FAQ page, this offer is valid between 22 October and 30 November, but only for existing Astro customers who subscribe to Viu Premium within this window.
Next month, Astro will be putting Blippi & Friends up on channel 619, with subscribers being able to preview the channel for free until 31 January 2025. This will also be rolled into the Kids Pack at no extra cost, and will feature shows like “Meekah”, “Supa Strikas” and “Oddbods Specials”, in addition to the eponymous “Blippi” and Blippi Wonders”. The channel will also be available for purchase on NJOI and sooka.
Moving on to Oppa Mania, this will be designated channel 100 next month, featuring Korean dramas, variety shows and movies, in addition to K-pop and Thai dramas. This channel is only available for preview for month, though it’s probably worth mentioning that the channel has appeared this way before, back in July of 2022.
