Insta360 has unveiled its latest action camera, the Ace Pro 2, featuring a Leica lens and offering 8K/30FPS recording capabilities. It boasts a new 50MP 1/1.3” sensor with a 157° wide viewing angle, improving on the previous Ace Pro. This sensor enhances video quality with a 13.5-stop dynamic range, allowing for 8K30FPS or 4K60FPS video recording, even with HDR mode enabled.
The Ace Pro 2 features dual 5nm processors, each with a specific role. According to Insta360, one is dedicated to image processing, while the other manages overall camera performance, resulting in smoother operation and enhanced video quality. These improvements are complemented by special modes like PureVideo, which is optimised for recording in low-light conditions, now upgraded to support 4K60FPS for even better results.
Audio quality has been improved with the inclusion of a Wind Guard, which helps reduce noise and enhance microphone clarity. The Ace Pro 2 also comes with removable microphone covers and a scratch-resistant lens, adding to its durability. Other convenient features include Gesture & Voice Control, as well as Auto Edit and AI Highlights Assistant.
Durability-wise, Insta360 says its new action camera is built to withstand tough conditions, being waterproof up to 12 metres without additional gear, and up to 60 metres with diving accessories. Additionally, it can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 45°C. Meanwhile, powering the device is a larger 1,800mAh battery that provides up to 180 minutes of use and can be quickly recharged to 80% in just 18 minutes.
In Malaysia, the Ace Pro 2 is available now via Insta360’s official Shopee store. It starts from RM1,899 for the Standard Bundle, which includes a USB-C cable, mount, battery, microphone cover. There’s also a Dual Battery Bundle that starts from RM1,999. The company also offers the option to include either a 64GB or 128GB SD Card along with these bundles for an additional cost.
