Samsung Electronics has begun rolling out its new Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature via its self-named Health Monitor app. Available starting today, the feature has been integrated into the Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Blood Pressure monitor on the Galaxy Watch.
“Cardiovascular disease remains one of the main causes of death around the world, and we’re committed to empowering our users to stay informed about their heart health by providing monitoring tools, including blood pressure measurement and irregular heart rhythm notification,” Hon Pak, Vice President and Head of Digital Health Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics, said. “We’re constantly exploring new ways to help Galaxy Watch users obtain deeper insights on their health and wellness effortlessly, day and night.”
Top activate IHRN, you need simply to activate either the ECG or Blood Pressure app on your Galaxy Watch7 or Watch Ultra. We recommend the former feature, as the latter requires a pairing with a sphygmomanometer.
The instructions are straightforward and once that’s done, you should be prompted to activate the feature in-app.
While not explicitly mentioned by Samsung, IHRN appears to be applicable to any Galaxy Watch that supports the ECG and Blood Pressure monitor but in this case, it will most certainly function with the latest Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra models.
