Last year, HONOR came out with the X9b, a mid-range smartphone with durability as its main selling point. Now, the brand has teased the successor to this phone, the X9c, and has confirmed that it will be coming to Malaysia soon.
To no one’s surprise, the upcoming X9c is also focused on durability, with the company dubbing it as the “King of Durability”. Not much else has been revealed about it yet other than the fact that it is a 5G smartphone. Moreover, the teaser video states that the device will be making its debut in Malaysia in November, but no exact launch date has been revealed yet, so stay tuned.
As to what we can expect from the phone, its predecessor, the X9b, featured a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with curved edges, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Based on photos shown by users involved in the phone’s Beta Experience Programme, the X9c will similarly get curved edges along with the brand’s Magic Capsule feature.
The X9b also ran on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with a large 5,800mAh battery that supported 35W charging. On the photography side, it came with a 108MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For toughness, it was equipped with a Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display that allowed it to absorb the impact of a drop from up to 1.5 metres and it had an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance.
