Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on PlayStation just about exactly a year ago on PlayStation platforms, and now, the game has a PC port on the way. And it’s coming early next year, which is a lot sooner than the four years it took the first game to make the same jump. Though it’s no real surprise, as the Sony gaming arm did say it wanted to speed up its PC porting process.
Announced over the weekend at the New York Comic Con, PlayStation says that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store starting 30 January of 2025. The port is being done by Nixxes Software, and while the announcement blog post mentions enhanced features for the port, it stopped short of listing them.
Instead, the post mentions two editions for the PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. There’s the Standard Edition, which has all the features that the PS5 version has gotten through updates since. Then there’s the Digital Deluxe Edition which gives both Peter and Miles five additional exclusive suits each, as well as early unlocks for other things in-game.
Putting a wet blanket over what would’ve been exciting news is a disclaimer what’s being displayed on the game’s Steam page. Here, you’ll see a notice that tells you that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 needs a PSN account, something that’s been added to PlayStation PC games in recent times.
