Earlier in the month, we saw the HONOR Pad X8a being listed by local retailers, complete with its price and some items on the spec sheet. These listing were mostly accurate, according to the official press release the brand sent out announcing its launch. Though the tablet also brought a Kids Edition in tow.
Going over the base model first, the HONOR Pad X8a sports an 11-inch Full HD 90Hz LCD display and a QUalcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset. It has 4GB of memory and 128GB of storage space, but the latter can be expanded by 1TB via microSD. Powering the device is an 8,300 mAh, and on the software side, the tablet has Android 14 with the MagicOS 8 overlay. For cameras, the tablet has a 5MP shooter in front and another 5MP unit at the back.
Despite the name, the HONOR Pad X8a Kids Edition isn’t all that different from the base model. The spec sheet is mostly identical, but while latter has both WiFi 5 and LTE support, the former is locked to only WiFi 5. It also has less storage space at 64GB, but it retains the 1TB microSD support. Befitting a child-friendly tablet though, it comes with additional features like Family Link for handling parental controls, and widgets like Doodle Mode for, doing what it says on the tin.
The HONOR Pad X8a costs RM799 which is no surprise, but you do get a flip cover at no additional cost. The Kids Edition, on the other hand, costs RM699 and it comes with a Kids Protective Case and Drawing Stick. You can find out more about each of them by visiting their respective official pages.
