When you think of Chinese EV makers, names like BYD or smart may come to mind. But launching today into the Malaysian market is one that is made by neither of these brands. It is called the Leapmotor C10, an electric SUV which was launched by Stellantis Malaysia. The company claims that Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to see the launch of the EV.
Marketed as a D-segment SUV, the Leapmotor C10 measures 4.74m long, 1.9m wide, and 1.68m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.83m. It has a century sprint time of 7.5 seconds, and a battery capacity of 69.5 kWh. The company has provided two driving range figures, which are 424km WLTP and 477km NEDC.
The Leapmotor C10 has an AC charging rate of 6.6 kW, while its DC charging rate is at 84 kW. The latter will allow its battery to go from 30% to 80% charge in 30 minutes. It also allows for Vehicle to Load (V2L) charging, with an output rated at 3,3 kW.
Inside, the Leapmotor C10 has a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, as well as a 10.2-inch instrument screen. On the front centre console, there’s also a 15W wireless charging pad, a 12V socket, one 60W USB-C port and one 12W USB-A port. Built-in audio is supported by 12 speakers.
Considering its segment, it’s probably no surprise that the Leapmotor C10 is loaded with safety features. The list includes things you’d expect like adaptive cruise control, front collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, as well as door opening warning and what is called Advanced Driver Distraction Warning.
The Leapmotor has an asking price of RM159,000 on the road without insurance. Place your order before 30 November though, and you can get it with a discount of RM10,000. You can find out more about the EV by visiting its page on the official site, linked here The .
