DJI has launched its new Air 3S aerial drone, an enhanced version of the Air 3 model from last year. With a weight of just 724g, the DJI Air 3S offers a balance of flexibility and advanced capabilities. It also features dual primary cameras with improved performance in low-light, as well as better omnidirectional obstacle sensing even during night time.
In terms of camera performance, the Air 3S boasts two powerful cameras: a primary 50-megapixel, 1-inch sensor with a 24mm lens and a secondary 48-megapixel, 1/1.3-inch sensor with a 70mm (3x zoom) lens. Both cameras offer up to 14 stops of dynamic range and can shoot in 10-bit H.265 video format, with the primary camera capable of recording 4K video at 60fps HDR or 120fps.
The Air 3S also features intelligent shooting modes, including ActiveTrack 360, which keeps subjects in focus during flight, and DJI’s Free panorama mode for seamless image stitching. Additionally, it includes 42GB of built-in storage, alongside a microSD slot for expansion. DJI adds that file sizes for recordings are reduced by 30% percent compared to its predecessor.
The Air 3S incorporates an advanced sensor suite to support its nightscape obstacle sensing. This includes front-facing LiDAR, downward infrared time-of-flight sensors, and a total of six vision sensors distributed across the front, rear, and bottom of the drone.
The new DJI Air 3s is now available in Malaysia via the brand’s physical stores and authorised distributors nationwide, as well as its online stores on Shopee and Lazada. The standard package with the RC-N3 controller is priced at RM4,599, the Fly More Combo with the RC-N3 at RM5,789, and the Fly More Combo with RC 2 controller at RM6,579.
