vivo has quietly introduced a new entry-level smartphone in the Y series with the Y19s. It is the successor to last year’s Y17s and it does offer some notable upgrades, including a bigger and brighter display, an RGB ring light, a punch-hole cutout that replaces the teardrop notch, and a much heftier battery.
The Y19s sports a 6.68-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Internally, the budget device runs on a Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but of course, the configuration could differ depending on the market. For protection, it comes with an IP64 and additionally, it ships Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 and is fitted with a side-mount fingerprint scanner.
On the optics front, it features a 50MP main camera, a depth sensor, and a 5MP selfie snapper. Backing the phone is a large 5,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging. As for connectivity, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2.
While the Y19s has been officially unveiled by the brand, it has not announced the details for pricing and availability yet. However, we can expect the phone to be available in Malaysia soon as it has already appeared on the SIRIM database with the model number V2419.
