HONOR has quietly launched two new entry-level smartphones called the X5b and the X5B Plus. The latest entries to the X series are the cheapest yet to be offered, with both models being nearly identical except for the camera as well as the RAM and storage configurations.
To start with, the lineup sports a 6.54-inch 720p LCD display with a waterdrop notch cutout and a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the two phones run on a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for the X5b while the Plus model gets 128GB of storage. They both run on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14.
On the imaging side, the series gets a very basic setup, with a 50MP camera for the plus, a 13MP lens for the vanilla model, along with a depth sensor and a 5MP selfie shooter on both phones. Powering the entry-level devices is a large 5,200mAh battery with an unspecified charging speed.
The X5b retails at SAR299 (~RM343) while the plus gets a price tag of SAR399 (~RM457). As of writing, it is unknown if the brand plans on bringing the phone to other markets.
