The OPPO K12 Plus has been announced in China. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and offers up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM along with 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which can be expanded by up to 1TB via a microSD card.
The OPPO K12 Plus features a 6.7-inch 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display that has a peak brightness of 1,100 nits and supports wet touch control. OPPO also boasts its self-developed shock-absorbing diamond structure and its safety airbag design, providing protection against water droplets.
The camera system features a triple-camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP front camera. The smartphone also comes equipped with an AI eraser for photo editing and a feature that allows users to create emojis by cutting out figures from images.
Powering the device is a 6,400 mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging. OPPO claims that users can get a 50% charge in just 20 minutes with wired charging. Additional features include an X-axis motor for 4D vibration in gaming, dual speakers, NFC, an IR blaster, an in-display fingerprint scanner, an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, and 5G connectivity.
Running on Android 14-based ColorOS 14 out of the box, OPPO has not disclosed how many software updates the device will receive overtime. The device is available in white and black, offering three memory configurations: 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB, priced at CNY1,899 (~RM1,152), CNY2,099 (~RM1,274), and CNY2,499 (~RM1,516), respectively. Pre-orders are currently open in China through OPPO’s official website, with sales starting on 15 October. At the time of writing, local availability and price tag remain unknown.
