Last month, the vivo V40 Lite was spotted on the SIRIM database, cueing its imminent arrival in the Malaysian market. However, at the time, it was unknown which version of the phone is coming here as there are multiple regional variants of it.
The brand itself has revealed through a Shopee listing, which has now been removed, that Malaysia will be getting the 5G variant that was introduced in Indonesia. Moreover, the listing shows that it will come in violet, silver, and black colour options, along with 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB storage and RAM configurations.
Spec-wise, the mid-range smartphone sports a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a global peak brightness of 1,200 nits. It runs on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W charging. For connectivity, it supports 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 5.
On the imaging side, the device features a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP selfie snapper. For protection, it comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. As of now, there is no official announcement regarding the local launch date, but the brand’s concept store in Muar informed us that it will be available from 26 October 2024.
